Improving the personal injury landscape for surgical centers, attorneys, home health agencies and patients

BETTER APPROACH TO POST-SURGICAL CARE

Surgeon | Surgical Center

DELIVER A HIGHER QUALITY OF CARE AND INCREASE OFFICE EFFICIENCY

Following surgery, surgeons want to be certain that:

  • Patients follow their recovery orders,
  • Patients take their medications, and
  • Care is available in order to minimize the risk of injury or re-injury.

All of these are significantly more likely when professional post-surgical care is provided.

In many cases, home healthcare agencies deliver this valuable service UNLESS it is a personal injury patient.

In personal injury cases, there is more financial risk than agencies can comfortably sustain, so they generally see no alternative but to pass on these cases.

Our role in the process is to remove the financial risk in such a way that personal injury cases become highly attractive to home health agencies.

Making home healthcare available as a post-surgical care option is a huge advantage for surgeons because:

  • it assures post-surgical care orders are followed,
  • minimizes risk of re-injury and infection, and
  • provides professional oversight in medication management

And, because professional caregivers are involved, medication and care instructions get reinforced, both with the patient and his/her personal caregivers. That has the spillover benefit of reducing phone calls to the surgeon's office asking for clarification of recovery and medication instructions.

At the risk of being boastful, it is entirely accurate to say our involvement in a personal injury case elevates the level of care and service that everyone is able to deliver the personal injury patient ... which is why we're all in this game to begin with, isn't it?

If you'd like to know about home health agencies we work to deliver post-surgical care to your personal injury surgical patients, just call. We'd love to help.

Dr. Bruce discusses how HHF can provide access to professional post-surgical care for patients being treated and cared for under a lien or letter of protection (LOP).
